In a pathetic incident, a passenger travelling with IndiGo was welcomed with worm regards. Seriously! Onboard IndiGo, the women found a live worm curling upon her meal.
IndiGo : Live Worm in Meal
A woman passenger named Khushboo Gupta was travelling onboard IndiGo Airlines flight 6E 6107 from Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport to Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. This passenger is a dietician by profession. On her Instagram account, she shared a video in which it can be clearly seen that the sandwich served by IndiGo crew had a worm curling in it. She slammed the airline for its low quality of food and service.
Being a dietician, Mrs Gupta asked the cabin crew to tell the remaining passengers to check their meals as well. But the response from IndiGo cabin crew was non-satisfactory. Mrs Gupta said that despite knowing a possible defect, the crew was continuing to serve sandwiches to other passengers onboard.
Mrs Gupta said – The flight attendant served sandwiches to other passengers even though she knew they were of poor quality. Children, the elderly, and other travelers were present. What happens if someone becomes infected?
When Mrs Gupta complained, the cabin crew told her that she will replace her meal with something else. She added that she will report this incident to the concerned department of her airline. When the cabin crew returned with another food item, Mrs Gupta refused to accept it. She said that she do not want any refund or compensation from the airline, but the airline to put passenger safety as priority.
IndiGo Issues Statement
Issuing an apology on its behalf, IndiGo Airlines said that they are working with their food caterer company to ensure that such incidents never happen again.
In its statement, it said : We are aware that one of our customers has expressed concerns about their flight 6E 6107 from Delhi to Mumbai. We would like to underline how determined we are to keep the best possible standards for food and beverage service on board.
After looking into it, our team stopped serving that particular sandwich right away. We are actively collaborating with our caterer to ensure that the necessary corrective actions are made while doing a comprehensive investigation into the incident. We really regret any inconvenience that the passenger may have had.
