The only writer at Times of Aviation is me, and it is impossible for me to cover each and every news from a particular region. American Airlines implements mandatory bag tags
For regional flights, the American major airline has introduced a policy to fill personal information on valet tags provided at the gate. Reason behind this is lack of overhead bin space to accomodate regular sized bags. Passengers will now tag their bags at the gate and have them stored in the belly of the aircraft.
Omni Air International has a new President
Parent Company of Omni Air International, Air Transport Services Group has announced David Ray as the President of the Oklahoma based airline. David Ray has been serving Omni Air International for the last 4 years. From Aug 2019 to July 2021, he served as Vice President of Flight Operations. From July 2021 to now, he served as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Now, he has been promoted.
United Airlines Ventures boosts fund for sustainability
In just 5 months of launch, United Airlines Ventures has boosted the investment power of its Sustainable Flight Fund to nearly $200 million and welcomed 8 new corporate partners.
This initiative from United helps start-ups in the field of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). The Venture partners are : American Express Global Business Travel, Boston Consulting Group, Hawaiian Airlines, JetBlue Ventures, Air Canada, Boeing, GE Aerospace, JPMorgan Chase and Honeywell.
