Scoot confident at Chinese Market Growth
China is the 2nd largest aviation market after the United States of America. Because of COVID, the country had closed its borders for more than 2 years. Now, when borders are being relaxed, airlines are returning to the giant market.
To get an idea of how large Chinese market is, let me tell you a fact.
Total fleet of all airlines in India is around 800. China’s largest airline China Southern Airlines has a fleet of around 650 aircraft. This, on one hand shows the size of Chinese market and on the other hand shows the potential of Indian market. Well, lets return to the Scoot topic.
In a giant market like China, airlines are returning and slowly inching towards recovery.
Story from statistics mouth
Before the pandemic, the airline used to operate direct flights to 19 Chinese cities. As of now, it has returned to 17 of them.
In January, the airline was carrying 2,500 weekly passengers to and from China. Now, the airline is carrying more than 18,000 weekly passengers. Let me remind you that China resumed quarantine free international travel in January. This means that from resumption to now, Scoot’s recovery has been a sweet story.
