Ayodhya Airport is all set to be inaugurated by Honoubale Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. Yesterday, trial flight was operated at the newly built airport facility.
Trial Landing at Ayodhya Airport Done
Yesterday, with an Indian Air Force Boeing 737 VIP jet, trial landing was done at Ayodhya Airport. It was a successful attempt. With this trial landing, the airport is all set to be inaugurated.
On December 30th, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi will inaugurate the auspicious airport in the holy city. On January 22, the idol of Shri Ram will be installed in the under construction Ram Mandir. After this, there will be a huge influx from pilgrims from all around India towards Ayodhya.
As a result of this, having an airport in the city is important. Phase-I of Ayodhya Airport is currently constructed. It covers an area of 6,500 sq. mt. During peak rush hour, it will have a capacity to accommodate 300 passengers. Annually, it can handle 6 lakh passengers under phase-I.
Flights Announced from Ayodhya
On Deceber 30th, both IndiGo and Air India Express will operate 1 flight between Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport and Ayodhya Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport. IndiGo will perform the maiden landing on 11:20 AM. Air India Express will follow landing at 12:20 PM.
Commercial scheduled operations have been announced as well. IndiGo and Air India Express will operate scheduled flights from the airport. IndiGo has announced connection to 3 Indian cities – Delhi, Ahmedabad and Mumbai.
Largest Low Cost Carrier of India, IndiGo will operate daily flights to Delhi and Mumbai. Thrice weekly flights will be operated between Ayodhya and Ahmedabad. Delhi flights will commence on January 10th, Ahmedabad on January 11th and Mumbai on January 15th.
On the other hand, Air India Express has also opened bookings for flights between Delhi and Ayodhya. The airline will start operating this route with effect from January 16th. It will deploy the Boeing 737 on this route.
Grounded airline Zooom Air, which got its AOC renewed in November has also requested the regulator to grant permission for flights between Lucknow and Ayodhya.
