Oman Air, which recently inducted its first ever narrowbody freighter aircraft has launched direct cargo flights to Hyderabad Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. The airline has only one Boeing 737 Freighter registered as A4O-BU.
Oman Air Cargo to Hyderabad
Oman Air, the flag carrier of Muscat has launched its maiden freight service from Hyderabad Airport. The airline, from now on, will operate twice weekly flights between Muscat and Hyderabad. Operations on Tuesday and Saturday using the sole Boeing 737 freighter.
This new service will boost the weekly cargo capacity of Hyderabad Rajiv Gandhi International Airport by 88 metric tonnes. The Boeing 737 freighter of Oman Air has a one way cargo capacity of 22 tonnes.
Mostly, the cargo transported through these freighter flights is pharma and hatching eggs shipment from the city. Oman is a large importer of hatching eggs from India & with this service, the airline is expecting an increase in exports of hatching eggs from Hyderabad.

Apart from Pharma & eggs, this service will increase exports of fruits & vegetables from Telangana & Andhra Pradesh to Gulf region.
