IndiGo, the largest airline in the country, as always on the front foot to start maiden services from Ayodhya Airport. Before the inauguration of the airport, the airline announced its schedule.
IndiGo to Ayodhya
Ayodhya is a city in Uttar Pradesh, which can also be termed as a home to Lord Rama. A temple is currently under construction, which will be completed soon. As the city is set to receive a flow of pilgrims, the state government has done its job by constructing a terminal at Ayodhya Airport. Now, IndiGo has announced that it will be the maiden airline to start operations from the airport.
The airline will start flights as follows :
Flight from Delhi
IndiGo using its 186 seater Airbus A320neo will operate inaugural flight between Delhi and Ayodhya on 6th January, 2024. After this, the airline will start scheduled services between Delhi & Ayodhya from 10 January 2024. It will operate daily flights with the Airbus A320neo aircraft.
The flight from Delhi will depart on 11:30 hrs & reach Ayodhya Airport at 13:15 hrs. After a 30 min halt, the aircraft will depart from Ayodhya Airport at 13:45 hrs & expected to arrive at Delhi Airport at 15:00 hrs.
Flight from Ahmedabad
Apart from Delhi, the airline will also connect Ayodhya to the largest city of Gujarat – Ahmedabad. It will operate thrice weekly flights on Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday using the Airbus A320 aircraft. This service will start from 11 January.
The flight will depart Ahmedabad Airport & will arrive at Ayodhya Airport on 11:00 hrs. After a 30 min halt, it will depart at 11:30 hrs & arrive at Ahmedabad Airport at 13:40 hrs.
For IndiGo, this will be overall 118th destination. Talking domestically, it will be its 86th domestic destination. The airline has recently launched flights to 4 popular international destinations & announced an expansion in Thailand market. During the recent conference call, Pieter Elbers, CEO of IndiGo said that the airline intends to start flights to Medina.
