Flag carrier of United Arab Emirates, Emirates comes up with a new initiative. The airline is coming up with a new service, where you will be able to pre-order your meal.
Emirates new initiative
Lets have a quick look on this new service from Emirates. By adhering to this service, customers will be able to preselect their meal 14 days and 24 hours in advance of their flight. This will ensure that passengers get their preferred meal choice every time. In the press release from Emirates, it also says that this initiative will reduce wastage of food.
From 14 days before a flight, passengers will be able to browse the onboard menu on Emirates website Emirates.com or the app. From there, they can select numerous varieties of food, which includes regionally inspired dishes with locally sourced ingredients. Special meals can also be pre-ordered.
How will it work?
Initially, this service will be available on business class on select international routes. Tomorrow onwards i.e. from 25 July, the airline will roll out this initiative on following routes :
- Dubai (DXB) to London Heathrow (LHR)
- Dubai (DXB) to London Stansted (STN)
- Dubai (DXB) to London Gatwick (LGW)
Let me remind you that this service will be available for business class passengers only.
Meal preordering will be added to the existing suite of AI-enabled customer preference tracking data and cabin crew reports. This will help the airline to track passenger’s preference and facilitate menu planning as well as optimal food loading.
On the aircraft, the cabin crew will use a custom-built application on a device to view that which passenger ordered which meal and srve the passenger their choice of hot dish.
In future, this pre-order facility will be expanded to more routes and cabins.
