Flag carrier of Latvia, airBaltic has placed an additional order for 30 more Airbus A220 jets. With this order, the total order book for the airline will be 80 aircraft.
airBaltic wants more Airbus A220
The Latvian carrier already operates a fleet of 44 Airbus A220 jets. In 2016, it was the launch customer & by 2020, whole fleet consisted of only A220s as the airline phased out the Boeing 737 & Bombardier Dash 8 from its fleet.
airBaltic in this Dubai Airshow has placed an order for 30 Airbus A220-300 jets along with 20 options for the same. The airline can exercise the options as & when it need. It is planning to operate a fleet of 100 Airbus A220 aircraft by the end of 2030. For almost 7 years, the Airbus A220 has been the backbone of the airline’s operations & has played an integral role in the international operation expansion of the airline. airBaltic was the launch customer of the Airbus A220 aircraft. Now,with this order, it is slated to become the largest Airbus A220 customer in Europe.

Airbus A220-300 is a modern airliner in its category. It has a seating capacity of 120-150 passengers. With a range of 3,450 nautical miles, it has opened various horizons for the airline as there are no aircraft directly in competition from other manufacturers. Compared to previous generation aircraft, Airbus A220 has 25% less fuel buen & Carbon Dioxide emissions per seat. In its category, it has the largest cabin, seats & windows.
