Finally, the wait is over as Air India, the TATA Group airline reveals its fresh and new livery. The newest Airbus A350 will feature this livery.
Air India New Livery
Air India in an event at Gurugram has revealed its new livery. The airline livery designed by Futurebrand also features the Vistara color. Futurebrand has fused the aubergine color in the livery. The aubergine color is present on Tail fin and Wingtips. The first Airbus A350-900 will soon get this livery. Lets have a look at the new livery.
Inspired from Jharokha
Many elements in the Air India livery are inspired from the airline’s Jharokha windows. There is a chakra, which is inspired from the airline’s previous logo and intertwined in circles. This chakra is featured in the aircraft tail as a net pattern.
The colors on the livery includes red, golden, purple and silver. The engines are fully painted in red color with golden strip and silver outlining. The wingtip also features the reddish, purple and golden elements. The belly of the aircraft has a big Air India written on it with White color having red background. There is a golden frame in the underbelly. As stated earlier, the airline livery has some elements of Vistara.
In the renders, the airline livery has featured the livery on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, Airbus A320neo, Airbus A321neo, and Airbus A350 aircraft. Boeing 737 MAX is not present in the CGI render. It will be interesting to see if Air India uses this same livery on Boeing 737 MAX of Air India Express or not.
Air India new logo
Simple airline brand name in the font and a golden element are featured in the new logo of Air India, which is also said to be inspired from the Jharokha. The new Logo is named ‘Vista’. Air India Sans font is used in the airline branding. Iconic Jharokha windows have now disappeared. But it inspires many elements. The windows will not feature any extra additional element.
The new logo does not bring any similarities from the older ones.
In Conclusion, we will talk about the reactions of the public regarding the new livery. Our partner account JetArena was the first one to upload the logo and livery on Social Media. And has gained many views as well as comments of people. The result is 70-30.
70% are saying that livery is not looking good and 30% are calling it astonishing, fresh and mind-blowing. If you ask about my opinion, I will say that everything looks great, when it is put on an aircraft. An aircraft, in itself, is an iconic machine and hence, you put anything on it, it will look good. There is a huge difference between CGI renders and real life. When i saw Akasa Air livery on renders for the first time, I was not impressed at all. But when the aircraft rolled out of the hangar, I went “Wow”. Before making any comments, I will love to see the aircraft livery on an aircraft.
