Air India Express is all set to enhance its capacity to Dammam in Saudi Arabia. The airline currently operates 13 times weekly to Dammam from 4 Indian airports. In this article, we will have a look at the airline’s expansion in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Air India Express Dammam network
Before talking about expansion, let us first talks about the airline’s current network. Air India Express currently operates over a dozen weekly flights to Dammam from 4 Indian airports. This includes 1X weekly flight from Kochi, 6X weekly flight from Kozhikode and 3X weekly flight from Mangalore and Trivandrum each. All flights are operated using the Boeing 737-800NG aircraft.
But now, as the airline is getting aircraft delivery at a rapid pace. It is all set to introduce more flights to Dammam. Lets have a look.
Mumbai & Hyderabad to Dammam
With effect from 19 January 2024, Air India Express will start non-stop flights from Mumbai and Hyderabad to Dammam King Fahd International Airport. The airline will be deploying its new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft on this route. With this, it will be connecting 6 Indian cities to Dammam.
Air India Express will operate daily flight services from both Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and Hyderabad Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.

Vice President of International department of Air India Express Tara Naidu said that these new routes will enable travellers from Bhubaneswar, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Goa, Gwalior, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Ranchi & Visakhapatnam to connect to Dammam Airport via these cities.
Frequency increment to Kozhikode
As stated above that currently, the airline operates 6X weekly flights between Kozhikode and Dammam. However, it has decided to increase this frequency to 7X weekly. With effect from 4th January, the airline will operate daily flights between Dammam and Kozhikode.
With daily flights from Mumbai and Hyderabad along with frequency increment from Kozhikode, the total number of Air India Express weekly flights from India to Dammam will increase from current 13 to 28. The airline will be connecting 6 Indian cities to Dammam instead of 4.
Apart from Dammam, the airline also operates flights to Riyadh and Jeddah. It connects Kochi, Kannur & Kozhikode with Riyadh. Also, it connects Kannur and Kozhikode to Jeddah with 9X weekly flights.
