French national airline, Air France has temporarily suspended its Chennai Operations from Paris. The airline has removed reservation from its booking engine.
Air France Chennai operations
Air France currently operates thrice weekly between Chennai International Airport (MAA) and Paris Charles de Gaulle International Airport (CDG). It operates the route using Airbus A350-900 aircraft. The Airbus A350 of Air France features 2 cabin configurations as shown below :
- 34 Business class, 24 Premium Economy class and 266 Economy class seats
- 48 Business class, 32 Premium Economy class and 212 Economy class seats
The airline operates on Chennai to Paris flights on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. Flights between Paris and Chennai are operated on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.
Here is a look at current timings :
AF 108 : The Airbus A350 departs Charles de Gaulle at 09:55 hrs and reaches Chennai International Airport at 00:05 hrs next morning
AF 115 : After a halt of 2 hours at Chennai Airport, the Airbus A350 departs at 02:05 hrs and arrives at Paris Airport at 08:40 hrs.
Enough of current schedule talks, the airline has removed reservation from its booking engines. Last flight scheduled is on March 31st. After this, all bookings have been removed. It is weird considering a fact that this route was doing good. There were actually plans to increase frequency on this route to 5 times weekly from current thrice weekly. However, the airline did exact opposite.
In Summer Schedule, the bookings are not available. However, from next winter, the flights are again available. This suggests that it is a temporary suspension of flights. After 31 March, the next flight is available on October 29th. From october 29th, bookings are available for Boeing 787 flights. This indicates that Boeing 787 Dreamliner will replace the Airbus A350.
Air France has a fleet of 10 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner jets. This are configured with 30 Business Class, 21 Premium Economy Class and 225 Economy Class seats.
Apart from Chennai, Air France operates daily Airbus A330 flights to Delhi and Bengaluru. It recently upgauged Mumbai operations from 7X to 10X weekly.
